Rain, Rain Go Away! (And in Other News)

It's been a while since I last posted as I've been really sick and sore, but I have finally linked my web site's FibroPage to this blog so that everyone gets the same posts.
It's been raining cats and dogs the last few weeks (well we had a few really sunny, hot and humid days over the weekend where I tried to recover and get some weeding done, but now it's back to raining) and that really seems to put me under the weather. At least I sleep well during the rain, I'm just really sore before each storm rolls in. And although I'm happy not to be lugging watering cans around my yard, I would really like a break from all the storms and downpours!
It also got me thinking. As a sufferer of Fibromyalgia and as an artist, it is about darn time for me to make some Fibromyalgia Awareness jewellery and have the profits go to the Canadian Arthritis Society and other Fibromyalgia charities. I'm working on some designs and I'll get back to you all on my progress - and soon!
That's all for now, I'm really sore - and nauseous!

Storm Sensor?

I know this sounds weird, but ever since I got sick with Fibromyalgia, I get headaches whenever a storm approaches. On the drive back home from dinner with my dad for Father's Day last night, we had a wallop of a storm. Lightning was hitting on either side of the car (scary-cool), and every time a strike was about to occur, the front of my face would pins-and-needles tingle and my headache would get waaaay worse. It felt like my head was being squeezed in a vise - really, really painful. It was as though I could predict the lightning! Once we were past the brunt of the storm, though, the headache lessened and finally went away entirely. I thought that was really odd. I've noticed too that I get grumpy right before a severe weather system occurs. I wonder if other people get this? People with Fibromyalgia? Let me know, I'm fascinated!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

I have to admit something - even though the Weather Network has this great thing called "Aches and Pains" on their website that gives you an approximation for those with arthritis and their potential pain levels at a given time, it doesn't work at all for Fibromyalgia. If it rains, I hurt. If it's cold, I hurt. If it's going to thunderstorm...you get it. I've got to admit, it's a great idea. I just wish it worked for all of us with Fibro.
Here's an interesting thing (and totally off topic)....I found out that a lot of people with Fibromyalgia bruise easily...I don't know why...I'd love to get some comments to find out why!
