Treasury Thursdays

I thought that today, instead of showing you all a treasury that I had made, I would show you some treasuries that my Etsy friends have made in the last week or so, that just so happen to feature yours truly ;-) Please note that you can click on any of the images above and it will take you to the item directly, for your shopping pleasure! Or, you can click on the title of the treasury (above is "It Was a Wondrous Day...") and it will take you to the treasury page, where everything is larger and easier to view.

The first treasury is one that shows the volunteers for my Etsy for Animals team on Etsy. I love the colors and how soft everything is. I'm the Yahoo administrator for this group, so I was lucky to be featured too :)

This treasury is from a woman in my Plurk team. If you don't know what Plurk is, see the left column of the blog...just a bit lower, and check it out. It is like Twitter, but better! Joy created this treasury with items from a few of her Plurk buddies :)

This treasury was created by another fellow Etsy for Animals member, in the vein of hoping for spring (aren't we all hoping for spring at this point!). It has some really stunning paintings and prints in it...I've added a few things from this list to my wishlist for sure!

This is another treasury from an Etsy for Animals member (boy are we active, or what??). With a variety of items, ranging from dog harnesses to catnip toys to ceramic mosaic, there is something for everyone on your gift-giving lists (Mother's Day is coming up soon, you know) :) Have a great day, be sure to come back tomorrow for a fantastic featured artist you won't want to miss!

Sweet Saturday: Happy Halloween!

Since Arwen doesn't have a Halloween costume *yet*, I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorite blogs and their dressed up animals. Please be sure to click on the links here to go and see more of these great blogs.

Here is Sadie from BeadedTail. She is dressed up as the KC Wolf mascot.
Always the proper kitty, here is Daisy from Daisy the Curly Cat, dressed up as a devil cat. I think she is too pretty to be a scary devil, but she sure is a fabulous model!
And here is Ellie from Sniffie and the Florida Furkids. She is dressed up as a lady with a skull and crossbones.

Well, I have certainly learned my lesson! Next year I will have Arwen dressed up in something. I have even purchased a pattern to make something for her...but what will it be? You'll have to visit next Halloween to find out!

Happy Halloween!!

Fabulous Friday Features: Meet Sharla of BeadedTail

Here is the next installment of the Fabulous Friday Features, where I feature a wonderful Etsy artist each week. Have an idea who the next featured artist should be? Leave a comment below and I'll do my best :)
Without further ado, I will hand this over to Sharla of Beaded Tail, a wonderful artist dedicated to helping animals:
~Isabella~

I’m Sharla and along with my mom, Sheri, we started BeadedTail in 2007. I’m a CPA living in Oregon and beading is a way for me to relax and enjoy finding my creative side. My mom is a retired Realtor living in Sun City in Las Vegas, NV. Mom began taking beading classes and kept telling me how much she enjoyed it. After a visit to my house, she taught me how to make bracelets and I was hooked. Eventually I made enough bracelets to go from wrist to elbow on both arms so I knew something needed to change. One day as I was searching for cat beads, I came across Etsy and the idea for BeadedTail was born!
~Angel~

We’ve always been animal lovers so we knew we wanted to sell our jewelry and donate the proceeds to animal charities. We chose the name BeadedTail since it combines what we make, beaded jewelry, with the reason we are making it, critters with tails! It didn’t limit us to just cats and dogs but includes horses and even dolphins so the name was perfect for us. To date we’ve donated $631.50 which includes $527 to animal charites and an additional $104.50 to “human” charities through my involvement with the EtsyAngels team.
~Sadie~

The animal charities we support are ones that of course help homeless pets, especially senior pets, and also organizations that fight puppy mills. They have to be stopped!I also really want to support organizations that do TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) of feral cats such as Alley Cat Allies. When feral cats are taken to a traditional shelter, they are euthanized because they are seen as unadoptable due to their fear of people. By practing TNR, the feral cats continue living and thriving in their own outdoor world, however, it stops the cycle of more and more cats being born. It is possible for feral cats to become wonderful, caring pets but shelters just do not have the time, patience or revenue to help them in that transition. So, as Bob Barker used to say, “help control the pet population, have your pet spayed or neutered!” Also, remember the motto “Don’t shop, adopt” when considering adding a pet to your family!
My husband and I have two cats, Angel and Isabella, who were adopted from a local shelter and we also have a husky named Sadie who came from a puppy mill type operation in Nebraska. Here’s a link to her story on my blog as well as the story of how we came to adopt Isabella and Angel.

A Few Words For Wednesday - A New Treasury!

Sorry I've been absent - I've been trying to post on my other blog, Little Studio Photography & Jewellery, and I've been having a problem with an old knee injury. One of the screws put in my knee a few years ago is apparently loosening and causing some pain. I am, however, surviving, and to prove it, here is a beautiful treasury from the Etsy teams I am a part of!

Check it out by clicking on the image above to see these artists up close!
